Purchasing Clerk

Duties: Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. Able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Review purchase requisitions and coordinate with requester on any clarifications. Work with team members to maximize buy-side purchasing opportunities. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. Process purchase orders, requisitions, and bid requests. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation. Communicate with vendors on status of outstanding orders as well as discrepancies with quality and quantity. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Assess, manage and mitigate risks. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries. Analyses trends and market conditions for present and future pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity of goods and services. Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification. 3 to 5 years’ experience within a purchasing role Knowledge of purchasing process Closing Skills. Negotiation Product Knowledge. recruitment@mpc.co.za
