LEGAL SECRETARY

To assist and support the office of the attorneys by performing a variety of administrative duties, including drafting legal correspondence, answering phones and greeting visitors and communicating with attorneys, clients and court personnel. Key accountabilities Provide administrative support to one or more lawyers including clients. Effectively communicate with witnesses. clients, colleagues and partners. Answer incoming calls and setting up meetings. Write case briefs and synopses of depositions, contracts and testimony. Conduct thorough statistical /documentary research Source and verify important case intelligence. Produce and file various legal documents such as appeals, motions or petitions. Liaise with sheriff of the court and clerk of the court Qualifications Grade 12. 2 - 3 years experience in legal secretariat position Proficient in English and Portuguese. Computer literacy. Good communication skills. Skills and Behaviour Excellent time management skills. Proactive and take initiative fluent in Portuguese - read, speak and write.
