Junior Sous Chef (Live- in)

An iconic hotel along the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape, is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join their dynamic team.  An awesome opportunity awaits...!


  • Driver’s license and own transport ESSENTIAL
  • A tertiary qualification in Catering
  • Previous experience in Hospitality or Events an advantage
  • Willing and able to work irregular hours
  • Willing to learn
  • Positive attitude and energetic
  • Passion for excellence
  • Team player - Ability to work in a small, close knit team
  • Excellent spoken communication skills (English)
  • Proficient in baking and have good plating skills.



The Junior Sous Chef reports to the Head Chef and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of food for functions at the company’s three venues
  • Transportation of food and staff between the kitchen and company’s three venues
  • Final prep and plating of food at functions at the company’s three venues
  • Preparation and serving of breakfast for accommodation guests
  • Working directly with the Head Chef
  • Working alongside other employees and assisting them where possible
  • Ordering of stock
  • Stock rotation and control of stock levels
  • Arranging casual staff when necessary
  • Assisting with health and hygiene
  • Liaising with the office and other managers regarding functions and any other matters arising in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Assisting the Head Chef or General Manager where necessary
