ENGINEERING BUYER

The successful candidate must have a purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment and preferably have an artisan / technical qualification. Primary purpose of this role is to ensure that products and services are procured timeously to ensure on time delivery to customers by: Analysing requirements, negotiating and purchasing spare parts and the expediting thereof; Supporting engineering with pricing on projects; Ensuring sufficient stock for repairs Expediting order Focus on localisation. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION Matric Artisan / Technician qualification would be advantageous. Purchasing certificate / Diploma ICDL would be advantageous. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE. Computer literacy; Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and SAP experience. 5 - 7 years' experience as a buyer in a manufacturing / production environment CIPS or other formal Procurement qualifications and association will be advantageous. Duties & Responsibilities JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Timeously prepare price estimations for quotation (RFQ’s), Negotiate and place purchase orders for manufacture, spare parts and repairs which must include Engineering Scope of Work (SOW) creation and Quality Control Plan (QCP) with view on placement of order.
