Field Sales Representative

Skills/Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in one of the following NOT NEGOTIABLE : Marketing, sales, business management, and 3-year work experience in the PERISHABLE FOOD AND MEAT INDUSTRY. Knowledge of HCCP and Food safety legislation NOT NEGOTIABLE. Trained in: Customer Service, Meeting Sales Goals, Closing Skills, Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Negotiation, Self-Confidence, Product Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Motivation for Sales. Dynamic, self-driven, and punctual. Competent in all relevant Computer programs. Strong administrative skills. High performance and ability to work under pressure. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK, READ AND WRITE AFRIKAANS AS WELL AS ENGLISH FLUENTLY. Non-smokers only and NOBODY PIERCINGS OR TATTOOS must be visible. Job Description: This position is not for an order taker but a qualified field sales representative to grow our business through active involvement in our clients` businesses. The main focus will be on the following: • Service existing customers and calling on sales outlets and other trade references by following a daily schedule set up by the sales department. • Focus on sales efforts by studying existing and potential volumes of sales. • Keep management informed of progress on sales by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses. • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments. • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; and making recommendations to management. • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales. • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Sales/Marketing • Generate profitable new business through prospecting and inquiry handling within the local market in order to exceed set targets. • Drive and maximize service revenue through up-selling of variable services to new and existing customers. • Conduct cold calling excursions, with a goal of converting prospects into customers by effectively listening and selling the entire product range. • Prospecting to generate leads through local companies, partnerships, and brokers. • Effectively manage leads and continuously update clients throughout the sales process to close the deal. • Keeps abreast of the local market by attending networking events and building strong channels of relationships with peers in the market place. Customer Service • Focus on meeting Customer needs by ensuring that the center team is delivering exceptional customer service and customer’s orders and needs are handled effectively and efficiently. • Provide direction and communicate with production, dispatch and the administration team to ensure 100% order fill. Candidates applying for this position will be expected to successfully pass all components of the recruitment and selection process, which includes but is not limited to: • Application screening • Practical exam • Oral interviews • Valid driver's license • Clean bad debt record. • Clean criminal record. • Clean DMV & drug screen required. • Clean polygraph test. The cost of recruitment screening tests will be R895 and for the account of the applicant (Payable 24 hours BEFORE the onset of the tests which will be after the second interview and which will only be done if you are deemed a successful candidate for an appointment) Remuneration: Basic Salary of 15 000 subject to a monthly target + Fixed cellphone allowance of R 750 + Fuel allowance not exceeding R 3500-00 per month. COST TO COMPANY Remuneration Package R 19 250-00 per month. Salary Frequency: Monthly / Commission based. Appointment Type: Permanent subject to an initial Trainee probation period of three months to establish skills and compatibility to the Company.
