Sales Manager

A growing company in the food processing industry is seeking to hire a high-performing Sales Manager to help them meet their customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping the company competitive and innovative.

You will be in charge of managing company sales by meeting planned targets, maximizing sales team potential, developing business plans, and justifying those plans to upper management.

You will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of your sales team by tracking sales targets, setting individual sales targets, and facilitating the ongoing training of your salespeople.

A degree/diploma in a related field would be advantageous. In order to succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a sales team. Previous experience in a sales-related role is a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Managing company sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue and expense controls.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports, and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging market segments and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Meeting planned sales targets.
  • Setting individual sales targets with the sales team.
  • Tracking sales targets and reporting results as necessary.
  • Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team.
  • The ongoing training of your salespeople.
  • Developing your sales team through motivation, counselling and product knowledge education.
  • Promoting the company and its products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in business or related field would be advantageous
  • A minimum of 5 years sales management experience consistently meeting or exceeding targets is required
  • Previous experience in managing key accounts is a must
  • Ability to analyse data and make meaningful interpretation of trends
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dedication to providing great customer service
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint
