Agile Business Analyst

The main purpose of your role as a Business Analyst is to facilitate the analysis of business problems, needs and opportunities to determine how best to solve the business issue and deliver value to stakeholders. The Business Analyst reports directly to the Senior Business Analyst. This position is required to conduct detailed analysis based on business problems that exist in order to recommend the appropriate action required to address the problem. The outcome of the analysis would either identify the appropriate technology/system development/enhancement or indicate that technology would not be the best solution and identify alternative efforts to resolve the issue.


Internal Liaison takes place with internal departments and IT. External liaison takes place with 3rd party suppliers.


Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):


• To analyse business needs in order to create accurate functional and non-functional specifications
• Conduct requirement workshops with Product Managers / Stakeholders
• Gather all requirements accurately from Product Managers / Stakeholders
• Ensure thorough understanding of the business need
• Obtain details in terms of the business requirements
• Compile a business solution based on the workshop input
• Translate business requirements into workable functional and non-functional specifications
• Draft all required documentation
• Identify specific business processes, through analysis, that could be enhanced or changed to become more efficient    best practice-orientated/deliver business value
• To liaise with and provide support to the Scrum teams
• To provide feedback to relevant stakeholders regarding various projects
• Liaise with the development team to establish accurate time frames for delivery
• Liaise with the Test team to ensure functionality matches user requirements
• Provide status updates and feedback to Senior BA / Product Managers on progress
• Liaise with external parties regarding functionality and integration when required
• To create user and training documentation
• Draft required user documentation accurately
• Ensure all relevant information is included in user documentation
• Draft training material and manuals for new systems/updates
• Complete the required project administration related to projects
• To manage own professional and self-development


Minimum Requirements:


• Grade 12 (Essential)
• Tertiary qualification (Desirable), preferably in a related field such as Information Systems
• 3 years’ experience in a Business Analysis environment (Desirable)
• Knowledge of Business Analysis methodology
• Knowledge of project management principles
• Knowledge of software development methodologies
• Knowledge of SCRUM methodology

The following criteria would be considered as advantageous:


• Recognized business analysis or information systems qualification
• Business analysis experience in the financial or retail industry
• Payments experience
• Experience dealing with compliance regulations
