Chief Safety and Risk Officer

Duties & Responsibilities Qualifications · Grade 12 (Essential) · National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Safety Management (Essential) · Certificate: Lead Auditor (Health & Safety Standards as subscribed to by the Mine) (Essential) · Competent A Certificate in Surface Mining (Recommended) · Blasting Certificate / Equivalent MQA qualification (Recommended) Experience. · Minimum of five (5) years operational Safety and Risk management experience in a mining environment (Essential) · Minimum of one (1) year experience in Supervisory or middle management level (Essential) o Demonstrate effective change management abilities. · Report writing o Ability to write effective reports of a technical nature · Supervisory o Ability to manage a small team. · Communication o Verbal and written – communicates in a clear conscious manner, using appropriate grammar, style and language. · Resilience o Maintains effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure. o Remains calm, stable and in control of themselves.
