Export Manager

Essential duties and responsibilities 

  • Accountable for design and implementation of all export strategies and activities
  • Monitor prospective markets and identify appropriate business opportunities 
  • Establish organizational policies and procedures related to exports and administer all export of good in line with these policies, at all times ensuring compliance
  • Prepare effective business plans for all projects to achieve required product volume and profit and organize all market plans to suit all customer requirements
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor trends and preferences of customers
  • Monitor all financial and currency processes and transactions as well as all communication with export authorities for all required countries 
  • Ensure adherence to all project requirements and prepare all export documents within required time frame and schedule efficient shipping activities and identify appropriate transportation method in assistance with customers
  • Design sales strategies according to customer requirement and collaborate with country sales manager manager  to prepare budget for projects 
  • Coordinate with management and plan participation in all trade shows and ensure all activities are according to customer specifications 
  • Assist business partners to design efficient distribution strategies for customers and ensure compliance to all foreign regulations
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all agents and clients and assist in shipment of products  

Education and experience required

  • A tertiary qualification will be strongly advantageous 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in exports, manufacturing, construction and sales 
  • At least 5 years' experience as an Export Manager in FMCG, Manufacturing and construction 
  • The role involves extensive travel. The candidate must be well travelled and be willing to travel locally and abroad for extensive periods of time
