A concern within the automotive components industry is seeking a National Sales Manager to join their team in order to develop and implement effective sales strategies, ensure a culture of strategic management and develop and implement annual budgets.

Reporting to : Sales and Marketing Executive

Job requirements :
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and / or relevant tertiary qualification in Sales & Marketing, and / or business administration
- Proven experience as a National Sales Manager or equivalent position
- Track record of at least 5 years in a similar role
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant senior management position in the automotive industry or FMCG environment
- 3 years’ experience in managing a small business unit or branch and leading a team of people
- Demonstrable track record of successful bottom line accountability and profitability and growth
- A track record of having successes in progressing and developing businesses of significance in a highly competitive environment
- Extensive travel, and able to attend conferences and trade shows
- Hands-on experience with CRM
- Prepared to work long and unconventional hours, and being accessible to clients and employees during evenings and weekends

Duties :
- Ensure a profitable and viable business unit within the required returns
- Ensure updated Management Information and control systems are in place in order to provide accurate and timely accounting and financial information
- Achieve cashflow and capital employed targets
- Draw up budgets and present
- Manage fixed and variable expenses (profit & loss statement) on a monthly basis against budgets and targets
- By reviewing the debtors in conjunction with the finance department ensure that all standard trading terms and conditions are in line with targets
- Ensure that a full range of products is sold via relevant market sectors and channels (includes the review and updating of sales plans and strategies to meet operational and strategic targets
- .Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets, and ensure regional budgeted / projected sales targets are met or exceeded at all times
- Provide a monthly exception report on variances and corrective action
- Ensure that there is sufficient supply and demand of the goods and/or services, inclusive of the quality of service provided by the Customer Service Centre (CIC)
- Ensure that the company’s distribution policies and procedures are managed and maintained
- Oversee and manage the optimum stockholding, distribution and reverse logistics processes
- Oversee the availability of stock for the market, and strategically manage warehouses under his/her control in compliance with the company’s strategy, vision and policies
- Collaboration with Marketing and Product Development
- Develop and maintain adequate systems, exercise functional control and co-ordinate all aspects of HR Management and ensure the optimal use of resources
- Manage a strategy to build, sustain and grow relationships with customers (ensure that all customer agreements are in place, duly approved, registered and adhered to)
- Ensure that all relevant safety, health and environment policies and procedures and statutory requirements are complied with and adhered to and that all audit findings are speedily addressed.
