Our client based in Johannesburg is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive the development and sustainable growth of the company products and services into Africa and the UAE. The role will be based in the company offices in Midrand. This permanent position will report directly to the Sales and Business Development Executive and interfaces closely with a division and key product house

Education and Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with relevant qualification
  • Business Management degree or equivalent NQF 7 qualification
  • MBA Desirable
  • At least 5 years IT security Sales Environment with a proven track record - Essential
  • Minimum 3 years in ACCOUNT Manager role - Desirable

Responsibilities

  • Market and drive profitable revenue growth and penetration of company products and services, particularly those of the company into markets in Africa and the UAE. As such, the successful applicant will interact closely with the product house
  • Promoting operational excellence, collaboration and free flow of information through enhanced communication between in-country head office, in-country resources and the SA based operations
  • Providing input into the identification and analysis of new and untapped markets for potential expansion of  offering including the development of a robust fact base in relation to local market intelligence, legal requirements and in-country competitive dynamics;
  • Acting as “translator” between the local clients/country teams and SA based product house by providing knowledgeable input in relation to clients’ business needs, functional requirements, technical specifications as contained in correspondence and RFP documents
  • Preparing or analysing quality business cases to establish commercial viability of new business opportunities including assessment of operational, technical and financial aspects;
  • Preparing proposals or tender documents in compliance with bid office standards and in accordance with internal processes
  • Develop own healthy pipeline of direct new business opportunities (across entire company offering) in select partner territories in Africa;
  • Collaborate with and closely support local offices and sales teams to drive new business volumes and ensure delivery of country budgeted results;
  • Provide sales enablement support to local offices and distribution partners (through design and implementation of internal processes and techniques to improve sales activity, pipeline generation, deal win-ratios and other related sales metrics relevant to  offering);
  • Maintain high quality information in support of proactive management of own sales and delivery targets relative to budget (Pipeline, operating expenses, revenue and gross profit margins)
  • Provide accurate forecasting of business and market needs;
