Our client based in Centurion is looking for a DevOps Supervisor who will be responsible for integrating the efforts of both the development and database administration areas of IT to deliver on business needs in a more directed and efficient manner. This role is responsible to drive, implement, support and maintain data services and provide swift product delivery.

Education and Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • B-Degree in an Information Technology related field is compulsory (honours is preferable and masters in advantageous)
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the Service Operations environment for a minimum of 5-6 years, with knowledge of Development
  • 3-4 years’ experience in SQL development required
  • ITIL Certification is compulsory (practitioner level or above preferred)
  • 3-4 years’ supervisory experience in an ICT environment, preferably telecoms
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Consult with the client with regards to system interfaces & the functional impacts on specific functionalities of the systems
  • Provide advice, specialised services and integrated DevOps and DBA solutions

  • Drive innovative solutions to reduce costs within Operational Delivery Services and the broader DBS where possible; e.g. automation

  • Set meaningful performance targets for all employees and clearly outline efforts required to reach deliverables
  • Support, coach and mentor staff
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time by management
