Senior Consultant

The purpose of this role is to manages resources through providing guidance, mentorship, support and developmental opportunities to aid team members to meet project deadlines, quality and client’s expectations.

This role is responsible for identifying business opportunities for AdaptIT in the public- sector market, operate both on a strategic and operation level interacting with public sector clients and be part of a team to formulate solutions for client needs and presenting proposed solutions to their needs.

Primary Responsibilities for the Role

· Building, establishing and maintaining relationship with Public Sector clients

· Extensive experience in proposal and report writing

· Presenting and interacting with the Senior Management teams of a Department / State Owned Entity / Local Government

· Understanding of the PFMA and MFMA and other relevant Public Sector policies

· In securing a business opportunity / project:

· Manage, guide and advise project resources to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time, within budget, scope and meet client’s expectations

· Develop project approaches that will meet the client’s needs in the short, medium and long terms

· Quality control project outputs / deliverables to ensure deliverables meet required standards and needs of the client

· Present solution offerings, project outcomes / progress to Senior Public-Sector Management Teams

· Continue to stay relevant by investing in your areas of expertise

· Managing projects to be profitable to AdaptIT

· Continuously conducting market research to identify service offerings that is relevant to the public sector market

Manage Team

  • Manages resources through providing guidance, mentorship, support and developmental opportunities to aid team members to meet project deadlines and quality
  • Provides status reporting inclusive of but not limited to utilisation plans, project updates, process improvements and team initiatives
  • Monitors and allocates resources to meet project deadlines
  • Assists with the recruitment of resources, based on technical competence and experience, ensuring potential candidates meet the project requirements
  • Conducts and provides input to the performance appraisals of team

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements

· Completed Matric

· Relevant Degree

· Is a self-starter who requires minimal supervision, and takes high ownership of work assigned

· Goal driven person

· Can operate both on a strategic and operational level

· Must be able to provide guidance and support to junior/intermediate developers to ensure that project deliverables are met in the required quality standards, time and budget estimations;

· Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail;

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to work under pressure;

· Ability to follow and abide by all information, security, and ISO policies and practices;

· Ability to mentor and assist others

· Good communications skills (verbal and written)

· Shows evidence of analytical ability and appreciates the importance of commercial constraints;

· Takes ownership of assigned tasks, maintains good rapport within the team, provides strong contribution and feedback to/ from the team lead;

· Contributes towards improving development/ support process – Strong focus on evaluating and analyzing flaws/ discrepancies in system, and ability to estimate, plan and implement efficient, high-quality solutions;

· Work well with others as part of a team;

· Able to travel – Nationally and Internationally

· Work in all provinces in South Africa and into Africa

· 10 years or more experience at a Middle and Senior Consultant level focusing on the public-sector market

· Extensive experience in at least 5 of the following consulting areas:

· Business Process Re-engineering

· Project Management (managing projects of more than R 100 (m))

· Strategy formulation

· Policy drafting

· Change Management

· Organisational Design and Job Description formulation

· Supply Chain Management

Extensive experience in the following Microsoft Software are important:

· Advance MS Office

· MS PowerPoint

· Advance Excel Skills

· MS Project
