Material And Corrosion's Engineer

Monitor the degradation rate of construction materials to advice on the retirement date Arrange metallurgical investigations in order to give appropriate advice on the selection of plant material Conduct multidisciplinary integrity management studies such as RBI (Risk Based Inspections) to keep accurate/complete plant integrity records. Advise Inspection Personnel on where to inspect to avoid unplanned shutdowns. Ensure continuous accreditation to SABS 0027, ISO 9000, ISO 14001 to comply with statutory requirements. Identify critical equipment to increase inspections, reduce risk of failure. Supervise/train staff on related integrity issues to avoid failures. Conduct capability audits on Contractors/Core Contractors to ensure adherence to specified quality systems. B. Sc. Engineering in Materials/Corrosion/Metallurgy or equivalent. 8 -10 years experience, of which at least 7 years in Inspection/Integrity assurance related area Technical ability to troubleshoot problems analytically/develop solutions. Good communication skills, in a service context, enabling him/her to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation. Have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications relevant to inspection engineering. Good problem solving/decision-making skills, able to operate effectively within complex environment.
