Quality Control Inspector (Engineering/Manufacturing)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  Welding Inspector SAIW Level 2 or equivalent.  Grade 12/N3 maths and science minimum.  Technical background experience and training e.g. technical drawings, welding, boiler making, fitter or turner.  Computer competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. EXPERIENCE  At least 5 – 10 years in a manufacturing environment with heavy engineering i.e. welding & boiler making.  At least 5 years satisfactory proof of experience as a SAIW Level 2 Quality Control Inspector with sound knowledge and experience of the QC inspection requirements of the various manufacturing codes for pressure and non-pressure equipment. This should include the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347 Requirements.  Experience in all aspects of welding inspection in a heavy engineering fabrication environment and/or refinery, is essential, with knowledge of Pressurised Systems, Structural Steelwork, RT interpretation, PT, MPI, UT, work with third party and compiling of Data Books.  Specifically, the candidate should have had experience in the following: Drawing interpretation, Materials, Machining, Welding, Non-destructive testing, Corrosion protection, Measurement and measuring equipment calibrations.  A proven track record of experience will be required.  Original certificates will be required at the interview.
