General Manager

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO: Staff Management: Oversees all departments - all staff, including hospital staff, reports to Branch Manager (responsibility of hospital staff shared with Head Vet). Oversees recruitment for vacancies in current positions. Completes succession planning. Ensures proper induction is completed for all new employees. Monitors outputs and productivity and corrects and develops performance. Identifies and addresses training needs. Supports, coaches and trains employees in procedures and workplace practices. Ensures performance appraisals are competed twice a year – January and July. Assists with and submits annual increase proposals by first week of February. Responsible for timekeeping, uniforms, operations, equipment. Ensures all staff are on duty and in a state to work Responsible for the whereabouts of staff always; done in conjunction with HOD’s. Takes disciplinary steps, including arranging disciplinary hearings when required. Financial Management: Develops a strategic financial plan for the realisation of the organisation’s strategic objectives and goals: Develop organisational financial strategic objectives. Implement & drive organisational financial strategic objectives. Provide feedback on organisation’s strategic progress. Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications: Grade 12. Degree in business management or animal care related (veterinary).
