Senior Credit Controller


Salary: R20 000 – R25 000 + pension fund + medical aid


Plastic Manufacturing Company seeks a Senior Credit Controller to ensure collection of all outstanding monies on allocated independent/chain store accounts ensuring that these are reconciled and maintained to the highest level. To support achievement of debtors’ targets, ensure accurate forecasting of collections and provide support to the credit manager.


Key responsibilities:


Debt collection:

Liaise with customers and Reps re outstanding monies and arrange collections where required.

Review AA regularly and ensure that maximum collections are achieved.

Ensure that customer receipts are reconciled on a daily basis and that discount and rebate calculations are in accordance with customer allowances.

Follow approved format for debt collections and account hand over.

Reconcile independent/chain store accounts and follow up on outstanding matters in the approved manner.

Liaise with customers and other departments in solving customer related queries and ensure timeous resolving of such queries.

Follow up with stock/overcharge credit clerks to ensure that claims are handled timeously and credits processed and assist in finalizing same when required.

Liaise with Financial Manager re any disputable amounts.


Credit management:


Release orders on hold either by checking order no or verifying that amount and ageing of outstanding debit is within the required limits.

Liaise with credit manager re any amounts outside these limits.

Monitor credit limits, placing order holds on accounts where required and obtain necessary information to allow credit manager to review credit limit.

Ensure that information reflected on AA has all relevant customer data and that comments relating to outstanding debt are visible either on AA or recons.

Provide monthly forecast of collections to Financial Manager.




Min 5 years’ experience in same position

Matric certificate (essential)

Diploma in Credit Management

Computer literate in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel

JDE experience is essential

High level of financial literacy with high volume processing

Working within and / or Sound Level of understanding of the major FMCG groups.
