Purchasing Manager

• Min Matric with a relevant Purchasing Degree/N. Diploma. • Min of 5 years in a purchasing environment, linked to a manufacturing facility. • SAP knowledge would be an advantage. • Ensuring on time supply of purchased material. • Ensuring on time supply of sub contracted items. • Responsible and accountable for all purchasing & expediting, where the incumbent will be expected to manage & lead a team of buyers in order to achieve the set goals. • Implement systems and processes in the department in order to show continuous improvement, measured through stretch goal achievement. • Supplier evaluation system, with continuous feedback to suppliers on supplier performance. • Responsible for supplier development, with focus on delivery performance & first time right supply. • Monitor, manage and action outstanding vendor analysis. • Monitor, manage and action outstanding system material warnings (MD06 on SAP) • Responsible to monitor and report on line stoppages due to material shortages, where root cause analysis is a crucial attribute for the incumbent to posses, in order to ensure effective close out of actions. • Accountable for all material shortages. • Manage, control and action all open purchase orders. • Improve on BEE spend • Implement enterprise development programs • Pricing strategy, focused on driving down prices & dual supply. • Implementation of a comprehensive purchasing strategy.
