Live in Sous Chef, Kruger Park Salary: R10 500 - R13 500 Area: Mpumalanga - Kruger National Park Main Responsibilities: The Sous chef position is based in the lodge kitchen and is responsible for the management of the kitchen and taking responsibility in the absence of the Head Chef. Minimum Requirements A minimum of 5 years management experience in a medium sized kitchen International / Relais Châteaux experience in a similar, 5 star establishment Experience on fine dining and a la carte service Fully computer literate Skills and Abilities Excellent understanding of kitchen procedure and timing requirements, good planning and organisational skills An absolute passion for cheffing and kitchen-related duties and be determined to grow in this area Good communication skills Good cooking skills, able to present healthy, innovative and modern dishes Able to work under pressure Understanding of health and hygiene issues safety procedures and the use of fire fighting equipment and first aid training Duties and Responsibilities Supervision and training of the kitchen staff in line with the Companies Standard Preparation of food, in line with the Companies Standards of Excellence Effective guest interaction to enhance guest satisfaction Effective management of staff canteens Administration of orders to minimize shortages and wastage and effective stock control Ensuring that the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen is of the highest standard Correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment Maintaining fridges and stores to the highest hygiene and stock rotation standards Communication with kitchen and lodge front of house staff to ensure the smooth running of the department Achieving service excellence though Teamwork Starting Date: Immediately On application, please include: CV in Word format with a photo of yourself in Chef Attire Images of food preparations in Fine Dining style Copy of your ID Forward your application with the following specifications to:
