IT Technician

B Sc/BA in computer Science, engineering or relevant field, Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional); 2 years experience in helpdesk environment; Duties: Set up workstations with computer and peripheral devices, Check computer hardware, install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications, Setting up hardware and installing and configure software, Maintaining and repairing technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices, Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance, Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems, Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment, Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies, Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.) Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule, Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders, offer technical support and teach users, Update of MIS Documentation e.g. network schematics, etc. Auditing of Hardware/Software. Conduct daily backups, operations and analysis, Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone, Assist personnel with installation, configuration and on-going usability of system hardware and software.
